Sulking happens when a person does not get their own way and decides to withdraw themself and their energy from those who stopped them getting their own way, so as to punish them and hopefully change their future behaviour.
Thus, sulking is the province of those who want to avoid change within themself, instead wanting people to accept them and their sub standard behaviour.
