Crazy Horse on negotiating

When negotiating a peace with another person, no matter who and what the problem stems from conduct yourself by;

Sitting down where you are both placed equally and on level ground.
Earn the other person's respect through listening.
Reply courteously.
Be sincere in your attitude and actions.
Do not consider winning, for to win is to lose.
Demonstrate your good faith.
Maintain your pious belief in your position.
Allow the other person to do the same.
Moderate your position in favour of the other person.
Never concoct a lie or half truth.
Do not be evangelical.
Resist the temptation to harass the other person to an outcome.
Where you believe the other person is not understanding you, do not think of them as being stupid, re explain.
Only continue to negotiate where you believe the other person wants an outcome.
If ever you realise you are negotiating with a lier, stop and walk away for they have just made the ground you are negotiating on, uneven.
Once you have walked away either decide to disassociate with the other person or fight them.

From my guide, Crazy Horse, through Ian Rogers, medium and spiritual teacher.
