The reason that age is important is gauging what a person has learned in this life, is the inability of so many to learn from the lives of others, for every life you encounter has something to teach you.
This inability to learn from others causes humans to only learn from themselves, which is age dependent.
It is only later in life that people realise that learning from yourself makes you a slow learner.
