Crazy Horse on coming home

In the late afternoon on the farm

Two ducks flew in perfect synchronicity

Towards the dam that was home

As they came in to land

Their feeling was one of absolute peace

For that was what the feeling they had when on the dam

Is this what you feel when you come home of an evening?

Crazy Horse on a safe place

Earth is not a safe place

Where you are often hurt

Mostly emotionally

It is a good idea to withdraw to a safe place to recover

And find a way forward

To stay in your safe place makes growth impossible

For growth can only come from moving to the realities

Of existence in a non safe plac

Crazy Horse on the greatest relaxant

When life feels too much

Tension fills your body and clouds your mind

The body’s release is to induce tears

To block them is to deny that release

And feeds your inner need to be tense and clouded

Rather than vulnerable and relaxed

For crying is the greatest relaxant of all

Crazy Horse on walking like a duck

When a duck walks, it waddles

And people watch it, thinking it is cute

When a human walks like a duck, that is, they waddle

They are usually scorned for their funny walk

Why do you accept a duck walking in a ducklike way and not a human doing so

It’s because ducks are better at flying and swimming than walking

So copying their difficult walking style is seen as awkward

It is a human trait to copy the worst of another’s features

And ignore their best

Yet at the same time criticise the other person for their behaviour

For criticism is easier to do than change yourself

Crazy Horse on cohabitation

When the temperature is hot

The animals remain in one spot

When the temperature is mild

They run wild

When the temperature is cold

They have no desire to be bold

Thus, the forces of nature affect the animals behaviour

Which is accepted as normal

Why does man want to invent new machines to overcome the effects of nature

So that no time is wasted

In their rush

To nowhere

For in wanting to overcome nature

It becomes normalised for man to want to overcome their fellow man

A secret has been unleashed from the animal kingdom

As to how to cohabitate

Crazy Horse on quiet gratitude

As an Indian, winter was mainly spent within the lodge

It was family time, reflection time and enjoying the fire and the buffalo food and clothes

It was a time of quiet gratitude

For life, for nature and for our great spirit

No matter your tribe or culture

All people need such time
